Joy's World
A World of Entertainment
Celebrating Over 20 years on Community TV |
|
History of Joy's World
Joy's World was started in 1987, a pioneer of community television. Since then Joy has made over 1000 programs.
The show presents people from all walks of life - particularly members of the
community who seldom, if ever get to appear on television. Hundreds of technichans and presenters have gained valuable experience making shows for Joy's World, an initial step for many of who are now working as professionals in the film industry.
Joy's World has been made from several locations, it started in the basement of a housing commision building in Redfern. After leaving CTV-1, Joy's World moved to a studio in Leichhardt, then to the aboriginal college EORA, then for some years at South Sydneys League Club. Joy is now producing the show in her own little studio in Botany.
